Seeking a theatre company to develop suicide prevention scenes
MHiMA Team - Friday, February 28, 2014
MHiMA is currently developing a training manual and other resources based on the findings of a recent Delphi research study. Resources will include guidelines and training videos about suicide warning signs and first aid actions.
MHiMA is seeking a Forum Theatre company to work with MHiMA to create and record short scenarios that will be included in training resources. The newly developed guidelines will be available by the end of April 2014. During May, a project officer will work with the theatre company to develop scenes and capture them on video. The theatre company may be based in Australia or overseas. The aim is to produce at least four scenes, each of two minutes’ duration.
Requirements:
Essential: The theatre company should have experience in using Forum Theatre techniques for training purposes.
Preferred: Experience in applying these techniques in suicide prevention and with culturally-diverse populations. The team would include people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Optional: Capacity to also provide video production– filming, basic editing and authoring of the short videos. Theatre companies without this capacity are also encouraged to apply.
More information is included here.
